Launch symposium for UBC’s new School of Biomedical Engineering

This event will take place on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at the Life Sciences Centre (2350 Health Sciences Mall, Vancouver, BC V6T 1Z3).

Genesis will bring together the School’s stakeholder groups, including faculty, students, clinicians, alumni, industry partners and benefactors. We will use the occasion to celebrate outstanding research and innovation at UBC, discuss future trends in biomedical engineering research and education, and outline the School’s vision for global excellence.

The day’s agenda includes stimulating talks about the grand challenges in biomedical engineering by global thought leaders; an overview of current and planned research, education, clinical interface, outreach and commercialization activities of the School in response to these grand challenges; panel discussions featuring industrialists, entrepreneurs, clinicians, venture capitalists and policymakers about the translation of biomedical engineering to the clinic; and how to catalyze the transformation of Vancouver into a hub for biomedical engineering research and innovation.

Official registration has closed. If you are interested in attending please send an email to Michelle Lee no later than Tuesday May 29 2018 at
