The SBME provides partnership opportunities for organizations in the biomedical space to take part in co-op and capstone project initiatives.

These opportunities provide valuable, real-world experience for biomedical engineering students while giving industry partners the chance to solve current problems, develop new products, and meet high-potential candidates for future jobs.

SBME students are a new generation of biomedical engineers who emerge from the program with a broad and fundamental skill set in problem solving, design principles, biology and a broad spectrum of expertise across cellular, mechanical and systems engineering. They are shaping the future of medicine.

Partnership Opportunities

Capstone Industry Projects

Using the knowledge and skills they have gained during their studies, students are tasked with challenging real world problems provided by participating industry partners that require immediate solutions.

Co-Op Program

The Engineering Co-Operative Education program provides an excellent opportunity for students to gain practical hands-on industrial experience to complement their formal engineering studies.
