Dr. David Liu is an Interventional Radiologist who is board certified in both Canada and the US, and holds appointments at Vancouver General Hospital and the BC Cancer Agency. Dr. Liu received his medical degree from University of Toronto, and completed his radiology residency at the University of British Columbia and his interventional radiology (IR) fellowship at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago.

In addition to bench-side and clinical research in the fields of novel embolic platforms, ablative technologies, and cancer related thromboembolic disease, Dr. Liu maintains an active clinical interventional oncology practice incorporating all aspects of embolization, ablation, venous access, and palliative therapy in many organ systems. He has delivered over 100 invited lectures worldwide and is an active member and inducted fellow of the Society of Interventional Radiology. He has recently been awarded the CIRA award from the Canadian Association of Interventional Radiology (CAIR) in recognition of his extraordinary contribution to the practice of IR in Canada and worldwide.

Dr. Zachary Laksman is a Cardiac Electrophysiologist at Vancouver General Hospital and St. Paul’s Hospital, where he is the Director of the Atrial Fibrillation Clinic and the Inherited Arrhythmia Clinic. Dr. Laksman completed his Medical Doctorate at the University of Toronto and subsequently trained as a specialist in Internal Medicine and Cardiology at Western University. His research interests focus on stem cell disease modelling and the genetic basis for diseases of the heart muscle, heart rhythm, and sudden cardiac death in the hopes of understanding the cause heart disease and the effect of treatments.

Dr. Laksman has been recognized for his leadership and vision through the Canada’s Top 40 Under 40 award.
